Join us for a free screening of THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON in partnership with minor projects and the Hudson High School Art Club! PLEASE RSVP to ensure you reserve a seat for this screening in case it sells out!

What does it take to stand up against the odds to do something that has never been done before? A pinch of courage, an unflinching belief in destiny, a teaspoon of good luck but most importantly - friends. The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019), starring Zach Gottsagen, Shia LaBeouf, and Dakota Johnson perfectly illustrates what one group of unlikely heroes can do together to rise up in spite of a world of stigma and prejudice to achieve legendary results. The film champions kindness in its truest form leaving ripple effects throughout all the lives it touches reminding us that even the smallest gesture of friendship can have major effects down river.

This free special screening is a pay-it-forward type of event. On the one hand we wish to celebrate inclusion in our community by showing what can happen when we give opportunities to those members of the community with so much to offer. The true story behind this film is that Zach Gottsagen (the actor playing Zak) was the first student with Down Syndrome to be fully integrated in his school district. The results? Spearheading one of the most memorable adventure films of this generation which went on to win SXSW’s Audience Award and receive a nomination for an Academy Award! On the other hand, we wish to use this event to kick-off a series of uplifting, educational, and life-affirming films that can raise funds for inclusive trips “out of school” and events that celebrate the powerful & radical act of friendship.

In this ultimate buddy film one message remains clear: to achieve anything we must do it together. So, grab a friend, come down to Story Screen Cinema in Hudson and remember what can be done through the power of friendship inspired by genuine connection.
