On this installment of Eight Bits, Robby and Mike discuss the unbelievably diverse run of the Tomb Raider franchise, from pixelated male fantasies all the way to one of the possibly best video game adaptations put to film, depending on what your rules are, of course. Along the way they discuss the male gaze (and overall perceived male-ness of gaming), what makes a good adaptation of any source material, ludonarrative dissonance and the impacts of violence in games on those that play them. It's pretty damn good.
